Polarfit® Cryogenic Liberation of Polymer and Metal Components

Cryogenic systems and lab services for your separation or recycling operation

Air Products’ applications engineers can help you evaluate the use of cryogenic liberation in your processes. At our trial facilities around the world, we can cool your multicomponent part by immersing it in liquid nitrogen or in a test chamber of cold nitrogen gas. Our engineers use these tests to establish process parameters for the separation of your part. Then they can use the parameters to develop estimated capital and operating costs for your processes. We can provide the cryogenic system including tanks, piping, and flow controls. We also have a full line of tunnel freezers and conveyors that can be used to cool down parts for the liberation process. Our skilled engineers can work with your current process—from magnetic separation to conveying and grinding—to determine the feasibility and economics of using cryogenics in your process.

Are you looking for a cleaner recycling process for your composite parts?

Our applications engineers can help you evaluate the use of cryogenic liberation in your process. At our trial facilities around the world, we can cool your multicomponent part to establish process separation of your part. We can use these trial results to recommend or provide a gas supply system tailored to your recycling or reclamation process. We’ve helped customers design and specify customized processes to support their recovery and reclamation efforts.

RECYCLING COMPOSITE MATERIALS USING LIQUID NITROGEN

Composite parts such as wires, circuit boards or plated pieces present unique challenges to recyclers due to the mix of materials. Cryogenic processing using liquid nitrogen can help recyclers recover more materials for reprocessing.
