Function Testing and Calibration of Gas Detectors

The periodic function, or bump testing, and the calibration of gas detection equipment is critical to workforce safety and plant protection. Air Products’ Experis® range of speciality gases deliver certified, traceable, and stable mixtures in a wide range of package options to support this need.

The Experis® range incorporates all of the commonly used calibration gas mixtures, which are available in non-refillable, or disposable canisters, which are favoured for their ease of use and portability. Canisters enable tests to be carried out on site, at the point of use as well as in the workshop.

Why Choose Air Products Canisters?

Air Products has built up an extensive working knowledge of the bump, function and calibration testing market by working closely with the OEM equipment suppliers, service and maintenance organisations and large end users.

This ensures that it holds stock of the most commonly used gas mixtures, to ensure fast delivery to it's customer base. For other 'non-standard' gases it is able to manufacture on short lead times, from its European production plant.

“How many tests can be performed using each canister?”
The instrument manufacturer normally states the gas flow rate required in their operating procedures. Air Products' largest canisters hold approximately 110 litres, so an instrument with a response time of 10 seconds using a fixed flow of gas of 1.0 lpm might be tested several hundred times using the 110L canister.
